Prawle Point - We've moved to the new extension

Finally after much hard work, the first watch was kept in the new extended lookout 25 Nov 2001. The watchkeeper had soldering, window washing and painting going on around her. The team did take the odd coffee break to enjoy the new surroundings.

There is still much to do, but watchkeepers will find it luxurious compared to the garden shed in cold windy weather. The shed shook in high winds and so did the telescope, so making it difficult to see distant boats. The shed could be extremely cold and wearing gloves made writing difficult! The shed will be taken down at the first opportunity as it obscures the view.It has been bought by a watchkeeper. Congratulations to all concerned and many thanks to all our donors who made the new extension possible.
