The lookout is equipped with a 4kW Raytheon SL70 radar This allows us to pinpoint the positions of vessels at up to 30nm away. Enabling the lookout to function to a degree even over the horizon, or more normally beyond the fog. It was kindly donated by a family whose yacht was sinking off the point 20 years previously whose distress signals were seen by the manned Coastguard lookout
