Water

Unsurprisingly the lookout is not connected to either the mains water or sewerage. Being on the top of a hill the possibilities of a natural water source are also non existent, this means that all of the water used must either be rain collected from the roof or carried up from the old coastguard cottages 500 yards horizontally and about 100 feet vertically away. This leads to an altogether different appreciation of water than you get when it comes out of a tap.

The lack of water also means a flushing toilet is out of the question so we have installed a chemical toilet that anybody who has been caravanning would find familiar.
